2007-2011 _ RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

Residential complex of eight units in the hills

Gassino Torinese (TO)

Photographs: Lorenzo Serra

In a small town near Turin, a residential expansion around the old town, consisting of detached or semidetached houses, is located on the hill overlooking the mountains and the Po valley.

In this context the aim of the project was the relationship between the new building and the landscape, without any strong impacting choise. In fact, while trying to give unity to the intervention, we proceeded to further fragmentation and recomposition.

All elements, both about distribution (elevation levels, access, indoor arrangements) and about architecture (roof, facades, materials) help to accentuate this idea, creating a variety of views and perspectives.

In order to give a typical living condition of this place (characterized by a close relationship with outside) each apartment has private gardens or wide terraces, optimal exposure and views focused on the beautiful landscape.

All the housing units have maximum independence thanks to changeable ground section.
