The new Grado Thermal Baths are conceived as a meeting point between nature, the body, and architecture, balancing between the beach and the Parco delle Rose.
The project redefines the threshold between city and sea, transforming a marginal area into a continuous, permeable, and luminous space. Water, sand, salt, light, and shade become materials of construction as much as concrete, wood, and stone.
The building unfolds as a horizontal organism that follows the coastal landscape, opening toward the sea while sheltering from the wind through a sequence of courtyards, patios, and loggias. The interior spaces blur the boundary between thermal experience and natural environment, creating a sense of wellbeing that engages all the senses.
Designed as a living structure throughout the year, the complex hosts not only thermal and wellness activities but also public events and moments of social interaction. The result is a sober, contemporary architecture that restores identity to a historic site of Grado, merging memory and innovation in a delicate balance with the lagoon landscape.
